The incident occurred on June 24 at one of the grocery discount stores in Jelenia Góra. During an intervention, traffic police detained a 35-year-old man suspected of robbery theft. – The man paid for two beers as he passed through the checkout area, but took out pork fat worth PLN 0.77 without paying for it. A security employee noticed this and tried to take it away from him – reports Deputy Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra. – The man was very aggressive, and a scuffle broke out, during which the 35-year-old hit the security employee on the head several times with a beer can. The aggressor was handed over to police officers who arrived after being called to intervene.
The suspect is a repeat offender. He was first taken to police custody and then remanded in custody by the court for two months.
The 35-year-old could now face between one and as many as ten years in prison.
