The incident occurred last weekend, at night, on Cieszkowskiego Street in Bolesławiec. The attackers brutally beat a man; he was taken to hospital with serious bodily injuries.

Asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters:

Officers from the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters identified and arrested five attackers based on surveillance footage and witness statements. The suspects are men aged 23 to 25, residents of Bolesławiec and Złotoryja counties.

All those arrested were charged with assault, an offense punishable by up to three years in prison. In the case of four suspects, the court imposed preventive measures in the form of police supervision and a restraining order prohibiting them from approaching the victim.

The fifth attacker—a 24-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County—was remanded in custody by the court for three months. The man was charged with assault and causing injuries that posed a real threat to life, for which he faces a sentence of at least three to 15 years in prison.

Moreover, the 24-year-old will also be held responsible for possessing drugs that he had on him when he was arrested.
