History of the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bolesławiec
- 1752-1756 Construction of the Evangelical church. A church was built on the site of the former ducal castle, with a rectangular floor plan and a single-space interior enclosed on three sides by wooden galleries. The barrel vault resting on the gallery supports created the impression of a three-nave church
- 1834-1835 Addition of a 73-meter-high Neo-Gothic tower made of dressed stone
- 1945 The church was taken over by the authorities of the Polish People's Republic. (For only a short time, it was used by the small Evangelical community that remained in Bolesławiec.) The church building, stripped of its sacred character, was converted into a warehouse for the Bolesławiec Violet and Ampoule Factory POLFA. In the 1960s, after the warehouse was closed, the church fell into disrepair and was approximately 70% destroyed
- 1969 As a result of efforts by the Archbishop of Wrocław, Bolesław Kominek, the state authorities leased the ruined church for 39 years for religious worship
- 12.1969 The first Eucharist (Midnight Mass) was celebrated by Father Edward Bober, the first parish priest
- 05.1970 Establishment of the Roman Catholic parish under the invocation of Our Lady of Perpetual Help
- 04.1971 Consecration of the church by Archbishop Bolesław Kominek
- 03.1972 Blessing of three bells from the Felczyński bell foundry in Przemyśl
- 1976 Installation of a forty-stop organ built by the Brożek family from Tomisław
- 10.1992 Visit of a copy of the Miraculous Image of Our Lady of Częstochowa
- 03.1998 Relocation from the municipal cemetery to Zamkowy Square of a statue of Jesus, friend of children, created by Peter Brauer in 1902.
