I have a question: when will the hospital return to Bolesławiec? The city does not have a hospital, and people suffer from other illnesses, not only COVID-19… Patients are being transported—pointlessly and to the detriment of their health—to Lwówek or Zgorzelec, or from one hospital to another, without receiving immediate assistance.
It is absurd that a city like Bolesławiec should not have a hospital.
As istotne.pl was informed by Kamil Barczyk, director of the Zespół Opieki Zdrowotnej w Bolesławcu, the county hospital is preparing to begin “normal” operations as early as the beginning of July. Unfortunately, everything depends on the voivode, the National Health Fund (NFZ), and the infection statistics.
The situation at the facility is currently stable. Eighteen people are hospitalized, including nine people infected with the coronavirus. (One is in serious condition—on a ventilator.) The remaining nine are awaiting their test results. (Among the hospitalized patients, one is from Bolesławiec County).
As K. Barczyk admits, returning the hospital to its pre-epidemic state is no small challenge. “But we will manage,” the director promises.
