Tesco itself has announced the sale of its stores. In Poland, 301 retail outlets, two distribution centers and the company headquarters will be taken over by Netto, a chain originating from Denmark. As many as 7,000 Tesco employees will also join the new chain. The value of the transaction is PLN 900 million.

The Tesco stores that have been acquired will be converted into Netto 3.0. This will be an improved discount-store concept, offering a broader range of products and an interior design inspired by Scandinavian aesthetics.

For now, there is no information about what will happen to the petrol stations that have so far operated under the Tesco brand.
