On June 15 at 6:32 p.m., we were once again called upon to take part in a #challenge. This time, we did push-ups for a resident of our village—a little Zosia Bojanowska.

They added:

The campaign was successful—the push-ups were completed and the money was transferred. We encourage everyone to support Zosia’s treatment by clicking the link below:

Let us remind you. Zosia Bojanowska is two years old and has hypoplastic right heart syndrome (HRHS). An operation in Germany has been estimated at PLN 400,000. Despite support from their loved ones, her parents are unable to raise that amount. They are pleading for help.

The parents learned during prenatal examinations that their daughter’s heart had a defect. They began looking for a center willing to undertake her treatment. Since the day she was born, Zosia has been under the constant care of specialists. The child is tolerating the treatment very poorly. New difficulties keep arising.

On the ninth day of her life, after the first procedure, her condition deteriorated dramatically. She was unable to breathe independently. Sepsis developed, and further organs stopped functioning. Resuscitation was necessary, and she suffered oxygen deprivation to the brain. Zosia’s mother was told that this could be the end, but Zosia kept fighting! After weeks of treatment, a decision was made to perform another operation. Complications arose again. The operations and hospital stays saved Zosia’s life, but they also severely weakened her body.

Zosia is swelling, turning blue, becoming tired, and sleeping more… Surgery dates at centers in Poland are far off. Her parents decided to seek help abroad, where the waiting time is shorter. Doctors in Germany decided that Zosia must undergo surgery as soon as possible because her heart may not hold out much longer and could stop beating at any moment. As her parents write, the child’s life has been valued at nearly PLN 400,000.
