“As for the end of the school year, the decision is essentially made by school principals after consulting with teachers, teaching councils and parent councils,” says Barbara Majecka, head of the Municipal School Services Centre in Bolesławiec.
In the vast majority of schools in Bolesławiec Municipality, eighth-grade students will be invited to the end-of-year ceremony so that the moment of completing school remains in the graduates’ memories. (Naturally, everything will take place in accordance with the ministries’ guidelines).
Students in grades 1–7 will probably collect their certificates individually from their form teachers, or their parents will do so.
Certificates that are not collected at schools will probably be sent by post.

“In Bolesławiec schools, the end of the school year—according to the established schedule—will mostly take place on school premises, in designated areas such as the gymnasium or school sports field,” says Beata Sulska, head of the Social Affairs Department at Bolesławiec City Hall.
If a student is unable to collect their certificate on the designated day for some reason, it will be possible to do so at a later date. (Parents will be able to collect it from the school office).
“Unfortunately, this end of the school year will not take place in the traditional form,” adds B. Sulska. What does that mean? There will certainly be no assemblies or artistic programmes. And everything—for the children’s safety—will take place in stages.
(At one school, the end of the school year may even take place online).
