During the long weekend, police officers checked nearly 180 vehicles on the roads of Bolesławiec County. Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters:

The officers checked, among other things, the vehicles’ technical condition, whether drivers complied with speed limits, road signs and signals, the use of seat belts, and how children were transported. In 9 cases, vehicle registration certificates were seized because of vehicle defects.

The result? A total of 97 offences were recorded. In several cases, these involved exceeding the speed limit—6 drivers had their driving licences suspended for driving more than 50 km/h over the limit in a built-up area.

Unfortunately, despite the appeals, there are still people who get behind the wheel while intoxicated. Officers detained two drivers who had been drinking and one who was under the influence of drugs.

Moreover, officers caught three people who had violated court bans on driving, as well as a driver whose driving privileges had been revoked.

Bolesławiec police add:

Unfortunately, on 12 June, a road accident occurred in the Nowogrodziec municipality, in which a 59-year-old man died. Preliminary findings indicate that the cause of the incident was failure to yield the right of way to another vehicle.

And appeal:

Let us always bear in mind our own safety and that of other road users. Our improper actions can have tragic consequences—from legal and financial repercussions to loss of life or health. Let us avoid aggressive behaviour on the road!
