The incident took place on June 9 in the afternoon. “A 32-year-old man reported for inspection in Jędrzychowice. After medics checked his body temperature, he drove up to the inspection conducted by Border Guard officers. He handed all the required documents to an officer and then drove away from the inspection site, failing to comply with the instructions given to him,” says Maj. SG Joanna Konieczniak, spokesperson for the Nadodrzański Border Guard Unit.
She adds:
Border Guard officers immediately began chasing the fleeing vehicle, using audible and visual signals.
After several dozen minutes, the car driver was stopped. He explained to the officers that... he does not like being checked.
After consulting with a prosecutor from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zgorzelec, the man was fined PLN 500.
