Reports of burglaries in basements, which occurred at the turn of May and June, were received by the Lubin police station. “Criminal division officers took up the case, and their work first led to establishing the identity and arresting a 32-year-old resident of Lubin,” says asp. szt. Sylwia Serafin, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lubin. “Officers discovered some of the stolen items in the suspect’s basement.
The spokesperson adds:
Police established that the man stole anything he could later easily sell. These included bicycles, suitcases, power tools, shoes, gloves and a motorcycle helmet, as well as car wheels.
The 32-year-old also showed no scruples in stealing essentials for an unborn child—a new pram and two child car seats.
The total losses caused by the 32-year-old’s criminal activity were estimated at more than PLN 13,000.
The man was arrested and heard five charges. He confessed to all of them and decided to voluntarily submit to his punishment. This type of offense carries a sentence of between six months and five years in prison.
