On June 6, in the evening, the body of a 59-year-old woman was found in Komarno (Janowice Wielkie municipality, Jelenia Góra County). An emergency medical team and the police were called to the scene. Despite resuscitation efforts, the woman died.
– The circumstances of the incident indicated that the likely cause of the victim’s death was a gunshot wound to the head – says prosecutor Tomasz Czułowski, press spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. – It was established that the perpetrator of the murder may be a 70-year-old resident of the same locality. After forced entry was made into the apartment he occupied, his body was discovered.
He adds:
The probable cause of the man’s death was suicide, also as a result of a gunshot wound to the head from a firearm.
Investigators:
At both scenes, prosecutors from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra and officers from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra carried out investigative activities. An inspection was conducted, and traces and physical evidence were secured. An autopsy will be carried out.
