– Around the same time, officers from Bolesławiec, Oława, Trzebnica and Legnica thwarted the distribution of substances prohibited by law, dismantled an illegal plantation and seized various types of drugs – lists asp. szt. Monika Kaleta of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec arrested a young man suspected of drug offences. Asp. szt. M. Kaleta:

The seized narcotics, consisting of 100 sale portions of methamphetamine, together with the collected evidence, confirmed the officers’ suspicions. The 23-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec commune not only possessed narcotics but also dealt them.

Meanwhile, officers from the Patrol and Intervention Unit of the Police Station in Jelcz-Laskowice, while on night duty, were checking basements in residential blocks. In one of them, they noticed a light in the corridor. They decided to check the place. They saw a man sitting on the floor who, upon seeing the police, began behaving very nervously.

It turned out to be a 38-year-old resident of Jelcz-Laskowice. “The police quickly discovered the reason for the man’s anxiety,” says asp. szt. Monika Kaleta. “The officers found 10 zip-lock bags containing white powder on him. Testing showed that it was amphetamine. The seized quantity of these substances prohibited by law could have yielded more than 400 sale portions of the drug. The police are currently checking whether the man was involved in selling the substances.

She adds:

Similar findings will have to be made by detectives from the station in Trzebnica, where two men suspected of possessing drugs were arrested. Police found dried plant material on a 20-year-old resident of Trzebnica County. Analysis using testing kits showed that the seized material was marijuana.

During the activities involving the detainee, another man, aged 41, arrived at his property. He was also known to the police for drug-related criminal activity. A search of him and the premises he occupied led to the discovery of more drugs in the form of marijuana. In total, nearly 500 portions of these substances will not reach the black market.

Meanwhile, operational work by officers from the Department for Combating Crimes Against Life and Health of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica led to the arrest of a 27-year-old resident of the city. The officers received information that the Legnica resident was running a professional marijuana-growing operation in his apartment.

The information was confirmed. A policewoman said: “The officers discovered and seized a tent together with professional equipment used to grow the plants inside it. In addition, in one of the rooms, the officers found dried marijuana. This time, more than 600 portions of the drug will not reach the black market.
