Officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters arrested seven people between May 29 and 31 who committed crimes by getting behind the wheel. “Four of those arrested were intoxicated drivers,” says asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer for the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters.
She lists the cases: “Two Bolesławiec residents, aged 23 and 36, were driving cars with approximately 0.8 per mille of alcohol in their blood, while a 33-year-old man from Góra County was driving with 2 per mille. Meanwhile, a 37-year-old man from Zgorzelec County got behind the wheel with 0.6 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air and a court-imposed driving ban.
In addition, officers arrested three other people who had violated court-imposed driving bans: a 32-year-old woman from Bolesławiec County, a 35-year-old man from Lwówek County and a 37-year-old man from Legnica County.
Driving while intoxicated is punishable by up to two years in prison. Those who violate court-imposed driving bans may be jailed for as long as five years.
