On 29 May, we observe Veterans of Operations Outside the State Border Day and the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers. On this occasion, a ceremony was held at the 23rd Artillery Regiment; due to the epidemiological situation in the country, it was symbolic in nature.
“We remember those who fell while serving outside the country, and those who risked their lives and health on such missions,” said the acting commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Lt. Col. Marek Wasielewski, addressing those gathered. The commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment also thanked the veterans for sharing their experience and professionalism within the artillery community.
“On Veterans of Operations Outside the State Border Day and the International Day of Peacekeepers, we pay tribute to these brave and dedicated soldiers,” said Capt. Agnieszka Kozik of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment.
Letters of congratulations were also presented. At the end of the ceremony, a delegation of current and former soldiers of the 23rd Artillery Regiment laid flowers beneath a memorial plaque dedicated to soldiers of military units whose traditions are upheld by the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec.
