The accident occurred on Thursday, May 28, in the morning, in the village of Tomaszów Bolesławiecki (Warta Bolesławiecka commune). Two vehicles collided: a Volkswagen passenger car and a truck. The driver of the former, a 22-year-old from Legnica County, died at the scene.
Police and the prosecutor’s office investigated the causes of the accident. Preliminary findings by officers indicate that the VW driver crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the truck.
The man who died was a soldier. The case is being handled by the Military Police.

During the assessment, the rescue operation commander determined that a truck and a passenger car had collided head-on. The truck driver was not injured, while the driver of the other car became trapped inside the vehicle as a result of the bodywork being crushed.
While firefighters were using hydraulic tools to gain access to the casualty, the emergency medical team pronounced him dead.
Investigative procedures were carried out by the police and the Military Police. Due to the operations, the national road was impassable for several hours.
