May 4, as every year, is Saint Florian’s Day and International Firefighters’ Day. This year’s celebrations of the holiday at the Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service were organized in accordance with sanitary restrictions, i.e. exclusively with the shift on duty that day and without guests.
The county commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, Brig. Andrzej Śliwowski, thanked the subordinate firefighters for the daily effort they put into ensuring the safety of the residents of Bolesławiec County. There were also promotions. The following firefighters were promoted to higher service ranks:
- 2 firefighters in the officers’ corps
- 2 firefighters in the warrant officers’ corps
- 14 firefighters in the non-commissioned officers’ corps
- 3 firefighters in the ranks corps.
Brig. Andrzej Śliwowski:
I extend my congratulations to those promoted who could not take part in the ceremony in person, and I also ask you to pass on your thanks to your closest family members, whom your service also requires to make sacrifices and live with worry.
At the same time, during this difficult period of constant epidemiological threat, I wish all the women and men of the volunteer fire service units in Bolesławiec County good health and every success in their personal lives.
I also thank you for your preventive measures to date and for maintaining operational readiness for rescue operations.
