The incident occurred on Thursday, April 23, in the afternoon, in Parzyce (Nowogrodziec commune). A resident of the commune, while exiting a minor road, noticed that the driver who had the right of way had stopped at the intersection. “The reporting party became suspicious that the man behind the wheel might be intoxicated, so he approached the vehicle and took the keys, preventing him from driving on, and notified the emergency services,” says asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.

As it turned out, the 46-year-old was completely drunk; he had 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. The officers confiscated his driving licence.

The irresponsible driver could now face up to two years behind bars. The spokesperson says:

We would like to sincerely thank and congratulate the resident of Nowogrodziec commune who reacted and took action against the intoxicated driver for his courage.
