Healthcare workers play a key role in the fight against coronavirus, while their daily contact with patients also makes them a high-risk group for contracting Covid-19. Regular diagnostic testing is therefore extremely important to ensure their safety.
In recent days, nearly 1,000 people working in Lower Silesian hospitals were tested at the marshal’s initiative. Tests for the presence of coronavirus were conducted at the Lower Silesian Mental Health Centre, the Marciniak Hospital in Wrocław, and hospitals in Jelenia Góra, Wałbrzych and Legnica. The free tests were carried out thanks to cooperation with Warsaw Genomics.
In the coming days, 150 rescuers from the Wrocław Emergency Service will also be tested. The tests will be conducted at the rescue unit as part of the BADAMY–WSPIERAMY campaign. The nationwide initiative is being carried out by DIAGNOSTYKA; Techland has joined the effort to finance testing for Wrocław’s rescuers.
“I would like to thank the companies for their cooperation and assistance in conducting tests in Lower Silesia! Healthcare workers are on the front line in the fight against coronavirus. We will not leave them without support during this difficult time,” says Marshal Cezary Przybylski.
