There are a total of 65 beds for virus carriers at the county hospital in Bolesławiec. However, some of the beds are located in the obstetrics and gynaecology and surgical wards, which have been closed because coronavirus was detected among staff. As a result, the hospital currently has only 50 beds at its disposal, but all of them are occupied by patients and no new patients can be admitted.
Renovation of the attic, where the surgical duty rooms were located, is scheduled to begin next week. First, they need to be disinfected and then rebuilt. This will increase the number of beds to 80.
The hospital is waiting for specialist equipment worth PLN 1.5 million. This will include equipment for diagnosing the virus, allowing tests to be carried out on site instead of being transported to other cities and delayed.
