A reader who suffers from asthma wrote to us. For him, the journey to work in a mask is a journey through torment. Here is his account.
“On Thursday, I was due to work the second shift, so I put on a mask and left home. After just a dozen or so metres, I felt short of breath and hot. As a person with asthma, I felt terrible; I could not catch my breath, my entire face was burning from the heat, and on top of that, the sun was beating down.
I would rather stay at home, go out onto the balcony and breathe freely than go somewhere and struggle like that. The journey to and from work is some kind of punishment for people who have problems with their lungs or breathing; it is terribly exhausting.”
We remind you that people who cannot cover their mouth and nose due to their health condition are exempt from doing so. However, if the police stop such a person, they will have to explain themselves.
