On April 9, acting on the orders of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters searched a property in one of the localities in Jelenia Góra County. Significant quantities of drugs were found there.

Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters:

Almost 6 kg of various types of drugs, including 4,200 grams of marijuana, 1,370 grams of methamphetamine and more than 270 grams of cocaine.

The suspect was detained and arrested.

“During the search, officers discovered more than 4,200 grams of narcotic substances in the form of cannabis herb other than fiber hemp, 1,370 grams of methamphetamine and more than 270 grams of cocaine. The drugs had a black-market value of more than 600,000 zlotys. Substances used to produce drugs were also found,” says prosecutor Tomasz Czułowski, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. “The suspect’s property was also secured, including nearly 140,000 zlotys and 58,000 Czech korunas, as well as a BMW vehicle worth approximately 150,000 zlotys.”

The property owner, 48-year-old Wojciech W., was brought before the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, where he was charged with possessing significant quantities of narcotic substances and psychotropic substances.

At the investigators’ request, the court remanded the suspect in custody for three months.

Prosecutor T. Czułowski:

Wojciech W. had been convicted by the courts multiple times, including for offenses against property and offenses under the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction. In 2019, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec conducted an investigation against him concerning the possession of nearly 2 kilograms of methamphetamine, the production of approximately 8 kilograms and the attempted production of 36 kilograms of this psychotropic substance.

The spokesperson adds:

Court proceedings are currently ongoing in this case. At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, Wojciech W. was initially remanded in custody, but was later released from detention by a court decision after paying bail of 30,000 zlotys.

This type of offense is punishable by between one and as many as ten years in prison.
