– As I announced last week, thanks to these funds we will purchase essential equipment for medical units treating people infected with the coronavirus. The consultations we conducted helped us identify the needs of individual hospitals – explains Marshal Cezary Przybylski.

The support coordinated by the Marshal has helped meet the most urgent needs of, among others, the district hospital in Bolesławiec, which will receive a total of PLN 5.5 million. Half of this amount will be used to purchase essential personal protective equipment, such as masks, coveralls and protective goggles. The facility will also receive equipment worth more than PLN 2.6 million, including ventilators, defibrillators, cardiac monitors, ultrasound machines and intensive care beds. The purchase of disinfection devices and supplies is also among the most urgent needs.

The Jelenia Góra ambulance service will also receive funding. More than PLN 1.5 million will allow it to purchase a new ambulance, diagnostic and laboratory equipment, disinfection devices and supplies, as well as basic personal protective equipment.

The funds for combating the coronavirus come from European funds under the Regional Operational Programme for the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

– I assure you that no one will be left without medical care during this difficult time, and hospitals will receive the necessary equipment. At the same time, we want to express our greatest appreciation to doctors, paramedics and medical staff. You are on the front line in the fight against the coronavirus, looking after the health and lives of the people of Lower Silesia. We remember this, and our gratitude is immense. We will support you – adds Marshal Cezary Przybylski.
