On the night from Monday to Tuesday, the district hospital in Bolesławiec was designated a so-called single-profile infectious disease hospital. This means that all departments have been closed, including the Emergency Department, where people are treated in life-threatening situations. From now on, ambulances will take patients to hospitals in Lwówek Śląski, Lubań, Legnica or Zgorzelec.
“We do not have an internal medicine department, and surgery will stop operating shortly. From now on, the dispatch centre will refer patients to nearby hospitals. Night and holiday healthcare operates like other primary healthcare facilities, meaning that contact is initially made by telephone and patients are admitted only if necessary,” says Kamil Barczyk, director of the district hospital in Bolesławiec.
