Bolesławiec officials explain: “This is a decision by the Minister of National Education resulting from the need to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. 12 and 13 March this year are days when kindergartens and primary schools will not hold educational activities, but only provide care. From Monday, 16 March, children and pupils will not come to kindergartens or schools.”

Bolesławiec City Hall informs:

In addition to the Ministry of National Education’s recommendations concerning the suspension of school and kindergarten operations, from Thursday, 12 March this year, care activities will not be provided in the nursery units of Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 5.

What restrictions will apply?

City Hall:

From 12 March, all classes, concerts and events will also be suspended at:

  • the International Ceramics Centre—the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre, including CiK “Orzeł”, and “Forum” cinema (film screenings cancelled)
  • the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre, including Termy Bolesławiec
  • the Municipal Public Library—Knowledge Centre (including the lending library)
  • the Ceramics Museum
  • Community Support Centres I and II
  • the Senior+ Centre (meals will be delivered to beneficiaries’ homes)
  • municipal community clubs
  • the Bolesławiec “Orka” Aquatic Park.

The operations of these institutions will be limited at least until 25 March this year.

What is more:

A ban on visiting residents has been introduced at the Social Welfare Home on Piastów Street.

What about public transport?

From 16 March until further notice, MZK buses will not run.

What about MOPS and City Hall itself?

The Municipal Social Welfare Centre is not suspending its care services. The City Hall in the Town Hall is serving customers at the Customer Service Office (entrance next to the Wedding Palace). At the City Hall office building at Piłsudskiego Square, the Customer Service Office, Civil Registry Office and Department of Civil Affairs are available to customers. Officials say:

Residents are advised to minimise personal visits to the office and, where possible, handle matters electronically or by telephone.
