Officers from the Prevention Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained a 25-year-old man suspected of driving a vehicle while intoxicated. The arrest took place during the night of March 9–10, at approximately 3:50 a.m. While driving along Jana Pawła II Street in Jelenia Góra, police officers noticed a Ford vehicle. The driver was driving across the entire width of the road.
The officers, suspecting that the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, stopped him for a roadside inspection. Their suspicions were confirmed. The 25-year-old Ukrainian citizen had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.
“The 25-year-old was taken to police custody to sober up and for further proceedings,” says Deputy Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer for the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra. “The man will now face charges of driving a vehicle while intoxicated, for which he may face up to two years in prison.”
