The Valentine’s Concert is the largest artistic event prepared annually by the teachers and students of I Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec. Its aim is not only to promote and showcase the students’ numerous talents, but also to help in a difficult health situation.

“We try to direct assistance to a wide group of people connected with our school. This will also be the case this year. We symbolically dedicate the concert to the Parents and Friends of the school, and the funds raised during it will be donated to the medical rehabilitation of Adam Sobolski, our 1990 graduate,” says Cezary Czernatowicz, headmaster of I Liceum Ogólnokształcące.

Adam Sobolski’s life changed six years ago, when it turned out that, despite being fit and physically active, he had to undergo major surgery because of a cancerous tumor on his spine. Since then, he has undergone four such procedures, which caused extensive damage to the muscles and nerves in his right leg. Adam moves around only on crutches, wearing a special leg orthosis. Specialized rehabilitation, which unfortunately requires financial resources, may help restore his health. The school community decided to help him regain at least some of the lost mobility.

This year’s Valentine’s Concert will take place on Saturday, February 29, at 5:00 p.m. at the Old Theatre.
