During a night patrol of the city’s streets, officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec spotted a vehicle parked in a secluded location. In the car, behind one of the seats, there were seven bags of tobacco without Polish excise stamps (almost 3.5 kg).
It turned out that the illegal goods belonged to a 68-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County. “Police officers are investigating where the seized property came from,” says asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. “Under the provisions of the Fiscal Penal Code, the man may face up to three years in prison, as well as substantial financial penalties.
