The incident occurred on 18 February, after 12 noon, in Legnica. Traffic police stopped the driver of a Nissan for a roadside check; he was towing an Opel.
It turned out that the driver doing the towing had had his driving privileges revoked, while the man being towed… was wanted by the court. (He is due to serve a six-month prison sentence for causing a road accident while drunk.
That was not the end of it, however. Neither vehicle should have been allowed on the road due to their technical condition and lack of third-party liability insurance.
“Failure to comply with a court-imposed driving ban is punishable by up to five years’ imprisonment,” says Staff Sergeant Anna Tersa of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica.
