Lubin police officers were called to a domestic disturbance in one of the apartments in the Staszic housing estate in Lubin. – At the scene, a preventive patrol found employees of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre. The 24-year-old suspect was standing in the stairwell, holding a six-month-old child. He did not want to put the child in the pram. He was agitated and aggressive. After speaking with the officers, he handed the child over to the mother – reports asp. szt. Sylwia Serafin, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lubin.

Police established that the man had been psychologically and physically abusing his partner for a long time. He started arguments for no reason, during which he insulted the woman; criticised her, humiliated her, constantly harassed her, isolated her and restricted her access to money. Moreover, he pushed, grabbed and hit her, and even kicked his partner. – The woman was intimidated and forced to remain in the relationship – adds the Lubin police spokesperson.

The troublemaker was arrested. First, the man was taken to a police cell, and then – at the prosecutor’s request – the court temporarily detained him for three months.

The suspect now faces a sentence of between three months and as much as five years in prison.
