On February 7, the Municipal Police in Lwówek Śląski received a report from a woman whose husband had spotted a fox caught in a snare while walking in the forest. The animal was struggling and covered in blood, and had an open fracture of its foreleg. It was suffering greatly.

The police, Forest Guard and a veterinarian were called to the scene. Unfortunately, it was no longer possible to save the suffering fox. Officers secured the snare.

“Police officers remind everyone that setting snares violates the provisions of hunting law and the Animal Protection Act,” emphasizes junior constable Olga Łukaszewicz from the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski. “Such activity is punishable by up to five years in prison.”
