On February 10, Border Guard officers from Legnica established during an identity check of a 48-year-old Russian citizen that she was wanted throughout Europe. “The woman was wanted by the Russian justice system on the basis of two arrest warrants for the purpose of detention and extradition,” says Major of the Border Guard Joanna Konieczniak, spokesperson for the Nadodrzański Border Guard Unit.
The Russian woman, who is to serve a 22-year prison sentence, was wanted for large-scale financial crimes. “The court will decide whether the woman is handed over to the Russian justice system,” adds Major J. Konieczniak.
