The result of several years of cooperation with the Marshal Józef Piłsudski Primary School in Nowa Wieś has been the soldiers’ participation in anniversary celebrations commemorating the Battle of Warsaw and the school’s patron, and, on the other hand, students’ participation in military and patriotic ceremonies organized by the artillerymen from Bolesławiec.
On February 4, at the invitation of the school’s headmaster, Krzysztof Kaczmarek, the students were visited by the commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Colonel Grzegorz Potrzuski. The main purpose of the visit was to familiarize the children with the history and traditions inherited by the Bolesławiec unit, and to explain the specifics of artillery service and training activities.
The artillery equipment and the regiment’s soldiers’ service on missions abroad particularly aroused the students’ curiosity. At the end of the meeting, the artillery commander invited the children to the unit for an open barracks day, which will provide an opportunity to see the military equipment.
