During the January session of the Bolesławiec City Council, Mayor Piotr Roman mentioned a letter to the Ministry of National Defence. “I expressed my great concern there about the unresolved problem of access for Polish and American troops to the military unit,” the mayor noted. “This is a major problem, reported by residents. And I think that, unfortunately, this problem will grow if the Ministry of National Defence does not respond to the proposals put forward by the City of Bolesławiec and the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

P. Roman added that the problem could, after all, be easily resolved by providing access from the bypass. “But no one particularly wants to address this,” he stated.

He recalled the large military exercises during which heavy equipment damaged Bolesławiec’s roads. And further exercises of this kind have already been announced.

And he emphasized: “We expect the Polish government to resolve this situation or provide financial assistance in resolving it. Otherwise, I am afraid that people will start blocking pedestrian crossings, as they did on the S8.

He added:

If necessary, I will gladly go there and walk across those crossings, because this is a scandal, ladies and gentlemen. How long can we wait?!

Jarosław Kowalski, Chair of the City Council:

Indeed, we should strengthen our voice regarding the damage being done to municipal and county roads in the city of Bolesławiec. At every session and in our election programmes, we talk about improving our roads, and now someone is destroying them.

What do you think? We invite you to join the discussion.
