The burglary took place during the night of January 25–26 in Wrocław’s Krzyki district. According to information from Polskie Radio Wrocław, thieves broke into Olga Tokarczuk’s villa. Tokarczuk is a recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature. PRW:
No one heard anything, no one saw anything [...]. The writer is currently not in Poland; her sister, who lives in the same building, notified the police.
Authorities are carrying out procedures aimed at determining the identity and apprehending the perpetrator or perpetrators. Burglary carries a sentence of between one and as many as ten years in prison.
