The reconnaissance company conducted a 24-hour tactical training exercise. After the company commander issued the combat order, the platoons proceeded to carry out their tasks in practice. During the security march along the designated route, the soldiers performed a range of combat tasks. The scouts honed their map-reading skills, reconnoitered objects encountered along the marching route, carried out nighttime tasks using night vision and thermal imaging, lit fires and built shelters.
As the level of training among the soldiers varied, every subject and all activities performed by the scouts were discussed in detail before the given subject began.
Each stage of the training was also discussed immediately after it was completed. The instructors identified the trainees’ mistakes on an ongoing basis so that they could be corrected immediately, teaching them to act correctly and habitually.
