According to polsatnews.pl:
The herd consists of 12 animals, including two large ones. “These are crosses between Hungarian Mangalica pigs and wild boars,” said district veterinary officer Wiesława Bober.
It is already known that the herd will be euthanized and disposed of.
Let us recall. The incident occurred around the turn of 2019 and 2020 in the village of Osiek (Lubin municipality). The body of the 71-year-old pig farmer was found by his neighbor on January 8. The man, who died tragically, was last seen on New Year’s Eve.
The owner of the farm lived alone, and the pigs were not kept enclosed. The man was almost completely eaten.
The Lubin prosecutor’s office is investigating the case. According to gazeta.pl:
Investigators admit that this is the first time they have encountered such a case. Determining the exact cause of death will be difficult, as only a few limb bones and fragments of the skull remained of the man. One hypothesis is that the farmer died of a heart attack or fainted and fell.
