An extremely dangerous situation occurred at the railway crossing on Maria Curie-Skłodowskiej Street in Lubin. The barriers at the railway crossing were not lowered, and as a result, a passing freight train narrowly missed a city bus travelling through the crossing.
Passengers held their breath. The bus crossed just three seconds before the train entered the crossing.
One of the bus passengers reported the matter to the police. Officers confirmed the report. The crossing attendant was detained. She was sober.
The investigation is being conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lubin. The woman was charged with failure to perform her official duties and causing a direct risk of disaster in land traffic. By the investigators’ decision, the suspect was suspended from working as a crossing attendant; she was also placed under police supervision. KPP Lubin:
