On 10 January 2020, 50 new officers, including 13 female police officers, recited the words of the oath. The solemn ceremony was held at the “Śnieżka” Club House at the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

The provincial police commander, Police Inspector General Tomasz Trawiński, presented the female and male police officers with their oath certificates.

After completing their basic training, the newly recruited police officers will join the ranks of the city and county police headquarters in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Two of them will go to the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters.

In 2019, the Lower Silesian police garrison admitted 359 new police officers.

Who can serve in the police?

  • a Polish citizen of impeccable reputation who has not been convicted by a final court judgment of a crime or tax offense and enjoys full public rights
  • with at least a secondary education
  • physically and mentally capable of serving in armed formations subject to special official discipline, which they are prepared to obey.
