Police officers from the prevention department of the Lubin police station, while patrolling the city, spotted a Peugeot passenger car in the town centre. It was being driven by a 23-year-old man from Lubin whom they knew well. The officers decided to stop him for a traffic check.

During the identity check, the officers noticed clothing in the vehicle fitted with anti-theft devices. The man admitted that he had stolen it moments earlier from one of the shopping centres. It consisted primarily of branded shoes and sweatshirts worth a total of more than PLN 700.

However, these were not the 23-year-old’s only offences. The man’s behaviour indicated that he might be under the influence of drugs. The officers’ suspicions were confirmed.

What is more, it turned out that the detainee should not have been behind the wheel because he does not have a driving licence.

The man from Lubin was taken to a police cell. He could now face a sentence of between three months and as much as five years in prison.
