We are publicizing the matter at the request of our Reader, who wrote in an email to the editorial office: “Eleven families already live beyond the end of built-up area sign. It is only a matter of waiting until some major tragedy occurs.” The reason? Seeing the sign, drivers speed excessively on the exit road from Bolesławiec.
According to the Reader, moving the sign 250 meters toward Łaziska would be enough to improve the safety of nearby residents. “The city limits are even farther away, so there probably shouldn’t be a problem with that,” he added.
The man contacted the city and county authorities, as well as the police, regarding the signage. So far, without success. “I kept thinking that officials function in order to make our lives easier. It turned out that this is not entirely the case. I ask: what country do we live in?” the Reader said in an interview with the IstotneInformacje.pl portal. “A problem that is banal grows to enormous proportions.
The Dolnośląska Służba Dróg i Kolei is responsible for the signage on Kosiby Street. “It would be best if the residents submitted an application to move the sign,” says Joanna Jarocka, spokesperson for DSDIK. “If it proves justified, we will certainly solve this problem.
The Bolesławiec municipal authorities also announce that they will submit a similar application to the Dolnośląska Służba Dróg i Kolei. We will return to the matter.
