Police officers who were called to a domestic dispute determined that a 56-year-old son was abusing his 77-year-old mother, who was vulnerable due to her age. KPP Lubin:
For many years, while under the influence of alcohol, the man had called his mother vulgar and insulting names, humiliated her, pushed and hit her, and isolated her from others by locking her in the house and not allowing her to leave.
The troublemaker was detained and taken to a police cell. The evidence collected by investigators made it possible to charge the suspect with psychological and physical abuse of a close family member.
At the request of the Lubin prosecutor's office, the local court ordered the detainee to be held in temporary custody for two months. The 56-year-old could now face a prison sentence of between three months and five years.
