Officers from the Narcotics Crime Division, the Criminal Division and the Investigative Division of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, together with officers from the Criminal Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec and with the participation of officers from the Saxon State Criminal Police Office, detained seven people, aged between 19 and 28, as a result of operational work. They are suspected of participating in an organized criminal group involved in stealing luxury cars. These individuals were also engaged in receiving stolen parts.

Officers established that those detained stole luxury vehicles in Poland and Germany. (Two of them were wanted under European Arrest Warrants.)

After searching the detainees’ places of residence, police secured parts and components from BMW vehicles stolen in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.

They also found firearms: a rifle with a suppressor, 62 rounds of ammunition for a small-caliber rifle, as well as quantities of marijuana equivalent to 2,500 retail doses, cocaine and 25 ecstasy tablets.

Some of those detained have already been placed in pre-trial detention. The investigation is ongoing.

Police suspect that the group may have stolen several dozen luxury cars in total. The losses are currently being estimated. Further activities will be carried out by officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, as well as by German police officers.

A court will now decide the suspects’ fate. Those detained could face a prison sentence of between one and 10 years.
