This year, as part of the fair, the ZSOiZ community will support little Zosia’s rehabilitation. The girl was born on April 16, 2018, with a severe heart defect (HRHS for short). Zosia has been treated at the Centrum Zdrowia Matki Polki in Łódź since birth. She has undergone two major operations. The first, lifesaving operation was performed when she was just one month old; the second, lasting many hours and conducted with extracorporeal circulation and deep hypothermia, was carried out when Zosia was five months old. Zosia is under the care of the Wrocław Hospice for Children. Since September, she has been attending rehabilitation classes at the Psychological and Pedagogical Counseling Center in Bolesławiec. Despite her complicated illness, Zosia is a very cheerful child who diligently and bravely catches up on all her developmental delays. She walks, has begun saying her first words, and imitates animal sounds. Through her everyday attitude, she proves how much she wants to live. Her parents are doing everything possible to provide her with the best possible conditions, quality of life, and professional medical care, which requires enormous financial resources.
