The main objective of the “Winter” operation is to prevent threats to the lives and health of homeless and helpless people. KPP Bolesławiec:

The preventive measures undertaken will aim to limit incidents with tragic consequences and provide assistance to as many people in need as possible.

Activities carried out as part of the operation include, among other things, ongoing monitoring and inspection of places where homeless people may stay. Police officers will also pay particular attention to people under the influence of alcohol in circumstances posing a threat to their lives. In implementing the operation’s objectives, officers will cooperate with other services and institutions.

Officers:

All activities will be assistance-oriented; therefore, while performing their official duties, police officers will provide those in need with information and all necessary help in reaching facilities that assist homeless people and others requiring care.

An appeal to residents!

Bolesławiec officers also appeal to all residents of our county to inform the police and other services about anyone they notice sitting at a bus stop or in a park. They also ask residents to report people under the influence of alcohol or in a similar situation that could lead to hypothermia. Police officers say: “Let’s not pass such people by indifferently. In such cases, it is enough to react and notify the appropriate services.”

They add: “Let’s remember that someone’s life may depend on our involvement and assistance. Sometimes even one phone call is enough.”
