While patrolling the roads of Bolesławiec County, police officers noticed a vehicle driving across the entire lane. Their observations indicated that the driver was driving very nervously. He made strange maneuvers, including trying to overtake other cars even when road conditions were unsuitable for doing so.

When the car was stopped for inspection, it quickly became clear what had caused the driver’s strange behavior, which had attracted the attention of the alert and experienced officers. The man behind the wheel of the BMW was under the influence of intoxicating substances, had no documents with him, and was also unable to explain whose vehicle he was driving, which aroused further suspicions among the officers.

During the proceedings involving the 28-year-old resident of Legnica, it turned out that the BMW he was driving had been stolen in Germany several hours earlier, and its owner was reporting the theft to German police at that very moment.

The value of the vehicle recovered by the Bolesławiec officers is PLN 90,000. Thanks to the officers’ vigilance and professionalism, the car will be able to return to its owner.

The suspect has already been charged with burglary. The 28-year-old had previously been convicted of similar offenses, so he could face up to 15 years in prison.
