Zgorzelec criminal investigators returning from duty noticed a man lying on the tracks. Together with one of the passing drivers, they took action that may have saved the life of the 53-year-old resident of Zgorzelec.

As one of the police officers and the driver ran to help the man lying there, the railway crossing gates began to close. Fortunately, the train passed only after the man was already safe.

Police:

As it turned out, the 53-year-old resident of the city lost control of his body for health reasons, fell over and was unable to get up.

The officers:

According to surveillance footage, several vehicles passed the man without any reaction. Did they not see him? Did they think he was drunk? Were they in a hurry? We do not know. Fortunately, there was someone who was not indifferent to a human life.

The Zgorzelec officers add:

The District Police Commander in Zgorzelec would like to personally thank the man who helped the sick person, as well as the police officers, for their exemplary civic conduct, which may have saved a life. We cordially invite the man who responded appropriately to the danger together with the police officer to the police headquarters.
