The bridge in Ścinawa currently located along national road no. 36 is already more than one hundred years old. Due to its poor technical condition, a 15-tonne weight limit has been imposed on heavy goods vehicle traffic using it. The decision announced on Monday, October 28, by Waldemar Buda, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Investment and Development, means that the ministry has issued a positive opinion on the regional government’s application for financial support for the project and will co-finance its first stage with PLN 3.8 million.
– For the regional government, which is responsible for this project, this is significant assistance. The total cost of preparing the design documentation preceding the bridge’s construction is approximately PLN 4.8 million. I am very pleased that the ministry assessed our application positively – says Cezary Przybylski, Marshal of the Voivodeship.
The money provided by the ministry will come from the government’s Bridges for Regions programme. According to preliminary estimates, construction of the new bridge will cost approximately PLN 100 million. The new crossing will be designed in accordance with the highest standards for safety, load-bearing capacity and other technical requirements. The aim is for it to serve not only light local traffic but also heavy goods vehicle traffic, connecting the copper basin with the rest of Lower Silesia and Poland.
