Bolesławiec traffic police stopped two drivers who overtook in prohibited places—despite double solid lines.
A 20-year-old was caught on national road no. 94. The young man continued overtaking while driving around a bend. As he later explained to the police, he was hurrying to work. He was fined PLN 500.
The second penalized driver was a 60-year-old resident of Gromadka commune. When he was stopped, it emerged that overtaking on double solid lines was not the only violation on his record. The man broke the law by getting behind the wheel, as he did not have a driving licence. The 60-year-old was fined PLN 1,000.
Police appeal to drivers to exercise caution on the road:
By driving too fast, overtaking on double solid lines or failing to yield the right of way, drivers not only put their own safety and that of their passengers at risk, but also the safety of other road users.
