The 112 emergency number operator received information late in the evening that bystanders had prevented a driver who appeared drunk from continuing to drive in Mirsk.
A community police officer from Mirsk and a police officer from Gryfów Śląski went to the scene. The officers found a 23-year-old Volkswagen Passat driver, a resident of Gryfów municipality.
It soon turned out that the driver was banned from driving until 2028. What is more, the man was wanted; he had to serve a three-year prison sentence, among other things, for robbery, disturbing domestic peace and… driving a car under the influence of alcohol.
But that was not all. It emerged that this time the 23-year-old had been driving under the influence of drugs.
Officers from Lwówek Śląski said:
The wanted man was arrested and handed over to the prison service at the detention centre in Jelenia Góra. Documentation concerning the additional offence will be submitted to the prosecutor’s office and the court so that another sentence can be imposed.
They added:
Let us hope that the 23-year-old will not leave prison so soon and will not pose another threat to society.
