The perpetrator of the accident that occurred on Sunday in Kozłów has been remanded in custody for three months by court order.
Let us recall. The tragedy occurred on Sunday, September 15, before 3:00 p.m., in Kozłów (Bolesławiec commune).
The 41-year-old Peugeot driver, a resident of Bolesławiec County, crossed into the opposite lane and hit a motorcycle traveling correctly in its lane. Two people were riding it: a 46-year-old driver and a 48-year-old passenger. (Both were from Zgorzelec County.)
The motorcycle rider died at the scene, while the seriously injured passenger was airlifted by the LPR to a hospital in Zielona Góra.
Importantly, the perpetrator of the accident was subject to a court driving ban. Moreover, the 41-year-old was drunk, with 1.3 parts per thousand of alcohol in his system.
Volunteer firefighters from Trzebień:
Upon arriving at the scene, it turned out that a passenger car carrying only its driver had collided head-on with a motorcycle carrying two people. Our crew secured the scene, provided qualified first aid to the injured, and applied extinguishing agent to the burning motorcycle.
One of the people traveling on the motorcycle was found to have no vital signs, so our rescuers immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation using a defibrillator. Despite more than 40 minutes of resuscitation, a doctor pronounced the person dead.
In addition to the firefighters from Trzebień, firefighters from Bolesławiec, Szprotawa and Leszno Górne, the police, three emergency medical teams and an LPR crew took part in the operation.
